Understand IPC-9252A Electrical Test Specifications
IPC-9252A is a specification that defines "open“ or "short" for an electrical test of a PCB bare board based on the resistance value.
According to the different product applications of PCB, we take level C as the strictest example.
The resistance value range between 2 test points of the same network from 0 ohms to 10 ohms is considered “Pass”. 10.1 ohms or higher will be considered “Fail”.
The resistance values between the two networks range from 0.1 ohms to 10 megohms will be considered "Fail." Vice versa, it is considered "Pass" if the value is greater than 10.1 megohms. However, the user can still determine the minimum leakage value according to the application level of the product.
The voltage used in the test will be decided depending on different scenarios. We will discuss this in the next article.
